EquiLateral: The Equine-Assisted EMDR Protocol® Training

Minimum Qualifications

(Documentation Requirements)

This 30-hour training is intended for those EMDR Therapists who have completed the EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training and their Equine Professional partners, OR those EMDR Therapists who are dually trained in providing equine assisted services within mental health treatment, and are EMDR trained. Participants will be EquiLateral® Trained at the completion of this program and upon successful completion of all course requirements.

YOUR REQUIRED REGISTRATION MATERIALS I.E. EMDR AND/OR EAP VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS MUST BE UPLOADED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF YOUR REGISTRATION.

For The EMDR Therapist (EMDRT)

• Documented completion of an EMDRIA-approved Basic Training and certification, qualification, training, in providing equine-assisted interactions for mental health treatment.
• Alternatively, the EMDRT may attend the course with an Equine Professional partner who has trained in providing equine-assisted interactions in collaboration with licensed therapists.

For The Equine Professional (EP)

• Verification of qualifications and credentials related to providing equine assisted interactions in collaboration with licensed therapists.
  • If the EP is not dually trained as an EMDRT, an EMDRT partner must be in attendance for the entire course.

* Eligibility for 15 EMDRIA Credits is restricted to those who have completed an EMDRIA-Approved Basic EMDR Training. Attendees with no prior EMDR training are not eligible to receive EMDRIA Credits. Attendance at this workshop does not constitute training as an EMDR practitioner, nor does it provide a “certification” and certain requirements and restrictions may apply.
