DBR L1 Training Details
Lecture
You will begin to understand the crucial role that midbrain systems play in traumatic experiences, and how to observe and follow these "deep brain" sequences. Additionally, you will learn about the impact of unresolved shock, as well as its contribution to our clients' trauma symptoms, attachment conflicts, and underlying pain of aloneness.
Practicums
You will also practice what you have learned alongside your colleagues in small group practicums, where you will learn DBR "from the bottom up."
Â
Your access to the event materials and content will occur at a minimum of 24 hours before the first training day.
It is also strongly suggested that you attend via computer, laptop, or tablet, not your phone, as it is not conducive to practicum-based learning. Also, because this course is primarily practicum-based, please attend online in a location that allows for fewer distractions for yourself and for your colleagues in attendance. For the same reason, please do not attend while engaging in other activities i.e., walking, driving, etc.Â
It is also recommended that you purchase and begin reading the book authored by Corrigan, F. M., Young, H., & Christie-Sands, J. (2024). Deep Brain Reorienting: Understanding the Neuroscience of Trauma, Attachment Wounding, and DBR Psychotherapy (1st ed.). Routledge
Please note that ZOOM link for joining each training day will be provided to you 24 hours before each event.
